TERESA BRYANT, Psychotherapist
Marisa Kanas, R.P. (Qualifying), M.A.
We all have times in our lives when we feel overwhelmed.
Sometimes, our circumstances change suddenly when we
lose a loved one, decide to separate or divorce, change
careers, experience health challenges, or encounter other
events that make it difficult to manage our feelings and
behaviours, or sustain healthy relationships with those
closest to us.
As someone who undertook a career change after working
for 15 years in the healthcare and education sector, I know
firsthand, what it is like to move through a major life
transition and manage life all at the same time.
I enjoy working with people who are navigating such challenges, and provide a warm, genuine and compassionate space to process thoughts and feelings. I work from a client-focused perspective and depending on your needs, we may explore cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and mindfulness practices. The relationship that you and I form is the foundation upon which we will work towards creating a greater sense of well-being.
I enjoy working with people who are experiencing:
-
Life Transitions
-
Decision Making Issues
-
Work-life Balance Issues
-
Grief and Loss (through death or a living loss)
-
Anxiety
-
Depression
-
Illness
-
Health Anxiety
I obtained my MA in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University in New Brunswick, and my undergraduate degree in honours psychology from Western University. Before becoming a psychotherapist, I worked in leadership roles at St. Joseph’s Hospice, London Health Sciences Centre, and the Ivey School of Business.
